The Youth Cultural Bonus is divided into three sections. The 400 euros cannot be used for the same purpose but there are three categories of 200, 100 and 100 euros respectively. We will have a total of 200 euros for live arts, another 100 euros for physical cultural products and finally about 100 euros for digital consumption or online consumption.
The first includes all kinds of tickets and subscriptions to go to the cinema, to go to shows or museums, festivals, live music. The 100 euros for products in physical support allow us to buy video games, sheet music, recordsCD, DVD, press, magazines… And the 100 euros of online or digital consumption allow us to buy or subscribe to all kinds of platforms that you use on a daily basis: subscriptions to streaming music or video platforms, video games, digital books…
buy a computer
Can we buy a computer? We must take into account the second section to find out whether or not we can buy a computer with the Cultural Bonus. There are 100 euros of products in physical support, so we might think that it is a good idea to use them for a computer or a tablet, but we found some problems. The first and foremost is that the Youth Cultural Bonus does not allow to be intended for hardware items such as a phone, a computer, a tablet. Also, it is rare that a new computer will cost you less than 100 euros in total.
The same goes for any other similar devices and other hardware gadgets. You can not buy a tablet with the money destined for “physical support” or a digital book reader like the Kindle no new mobile phone. Although its use may be strictly cultural if you are going to use it for class, for example, you will not be able to do so. They are excluded in the conditions.
What alternatives are there?
You will not be able to spend the money from the Cultural Bonus on a computer, but you will be able to spend it on many of the things you use the device for, which it will help you save a lot of money. For example, we can buy video games using the one hundred euros of consumption for physical support and you can choose the titles that you want or are interested in or the one hundred euros corresponding to digital subscriptions if we use online video game subscription platforms like Steam can be.
Another option, for example, is to invest it in the payment of streaming platforms Like Netflix or Spotify. Even if you are not going to pay for a new laptop with the Youth Cultural Bonus, you will be able to save month by month with the subscriptions or with the video games you buy and invest the money in it.
