After bringing the monster collecting game Coromon to mobile, studio TRAGsoft has come up with a roguelite spin-off called Coromon: Rogue Planet. Set to release next year, not only on Steam and Switch, but also on iOS and Android. Coromon: Rogue Planet aims to blend the turn-based combat of the main game with roguelite-style gameplay to deliver an endlessly replayable monster collecting gameplay loop. A new one to watch for Pokémon fans.

To get a better understanding of what it’s all about, watch the official trailer for Coromon: Rogue Planet below:
In Coromon: Rogue Planetplayers explore the planet Velua, a world made up of over ten diverse biomes that change with each playthrough (hence the roguelite aspect). Each biome offers specific challenges as well as specific Coromon fauna to capture and train. The procedural generation of maps and encounters ensures that each exploration is different, which is often a guarantee of longevity.
Players have the opportunity to unlock and play as seven different characters, each with their own story and distinct playstyle. These characters join you throughout the adventure, enriching the narrative and providing new bonuses that can be used in subsequent playthroughs.
Coromon obliges, the heart of the game is based on the capture and training of more than 130 Coromon, each with their own elemental affinities and specific skills. By building a team of monsters, players can hone their abilities and prepare to face a variety of opponents, whether they are wild Coromon or other trainers.
However, it’s not all that simple. The strategic aspect is reinforced by the use of gadgets and a progression system that allows the player to continually improve their skills and abilities. This progression is essential to survive in Velua’s hostile environments and to contribute to a larger mission: the collection of resources to support a space exploration project. With each exploration, players discover the remains of an interstellar ship, bringing back valuable information and resources that advance an overall narrative, while unlocking the secrets of the galaxy.
