According to Ian Holmes, F1’s Director of Media Rights: “We are pleased to announce that DAZN will continue to broadcast F1 until the end of 2026. Their use of technology has improved the viewing experience for fans and has taken F1 coverage in Spain to another level”.
With this multi-year agreement, DAZN assumes the production of F1 until 2026. Therefore, with this change of scenario, DAZN and Movistar Plus+ will no longer share personnel to carry out F1 broadcasts and it will mean that the newsroom will no longer be located in Tres Cantos and they will not use the set or Telefónica facilities. In addition, with exclusive rights from DAZN, Movistar Plus+ will end the #VamosSobreRuedas program that was broadcast on its platform.
Goodbye to the agreement with Movistar?
From DAZN’s communication it is made very clear that this agreement is “exclusive.” Until now, DAZN had an agreement with Movistar Plus+ so that they could integrate the specialized channel DAZN F1 into their dial. Thus, any television subscriber of the blue operator could watch the races without having to be a subscriber to the streaming platform. According to sources in the sector, DAZN states that “it will open conversations with all platforms that are interested in incorporating the competition into their content offering.”
Yeah! Movistar Plus+ wants to keep @F1 on its platform and an agreement between them is very likely.

We will have to remain attentive to the next movements between both companies, to see if an agreement is reached to renew that option to share the competitionas continues to happen in LaLiga, or one of the two snatches a great competition from the other, as happened a few weeks ago with Movistar Plus+, keeping the Euroleague basketball exclusive, one of DAZN’s star competitions in recent times, where it was seen Real Madrid win the last edition.
This exclusivity also could imply a new price increase of the platform, something that has happened quite frequently in recent times. Being the only option to see a competition with a lot of following in Spain after the rebirth of Fernando Alonso in search of the 33 (despite the decline of last season) and the progression of Carlos Sainz who this year has been the only one capable of steal a race victory from a Red Bull.
