The French brand Devialet announces the launch of a new high-end product: the Devialet Gemini II headphones. As their name suggests, these True Wireless in-ear headphones with active noise reduction succeed the Devialet Gemini released in 2020.
The parallel with the apple brand is not accidental. The French company makes a specialty of designing luxury audio systems, the most renowned among audiophiles are Phantom for living room speakers, or Devialet Mania, for portable models. Far from this race for power, the Gemini II are in-ear headphones that offer adaptive noise reduction, Bluetooth 5.2 Multipoint, which allows up to two devices to be connected simultaneously and are compatible with voice assistants.
The Gemini IIs enjoy a sober and elegant design, but are rather bulky, by today’s standards. At a time when JLab offers headphones weighing just over 3g per unit with a case weighing less than 20g, the French manufacturer’s offering weighs, in total, more than double, at 61g. This will probably not be prohibitive, especially since the product is sold with four silicone tips which allow it to be adapted to all ear sizes.
The Devialet Gemini II are luxury active noise canceling in-ear headphones
Besides a IPX4 moisture resistance ratingthe Gemini IIs benefit from technology Devialet Adaptive Noise Cancellation which, combined with the Qualcomm aptX codec and “new Active Wind Reduction (AWR) technology, automatically and actively reduces wind noise”. Devialet also emphasizes the originality of the internal components such as the whole new 10mm titanium driver custom designed diameter.
With its Gemini II, Devialet prides itself on offering a ever more immersive sound, and without annoying background noise. In terms of sound quality, the company will have to compare itself to the big names like the Sony WF-1000XM5 or the 2nd generation AirPods Pro. The Devialet Gemini II are sold in Iconic White and Matte Black versions at €399, and Gold for €599.
