There are a lot of games as a service that use test servers (PTR) to check the stability of their upcoming updates, as well as being a way to find out what players like and dislike, allowing them to make last-minute changes if necessary. Diablo IV It didn’t have the most fortunate launch in the world, but it is true that the title is increasingly looking for ways to improve, and with the arrival of the upcoming DLC Vessel of Hatred, the title seeks to claim the place it deserves within the saga.
It is becoming more and more common to find games in which beta testers are users, and even large productions that base their model on a game as a service have found a way to make the players themselves do this work. In this case we are talking about PTR (Public Test Realm), PBE (Public Beta Environment) or similar, which can be found in practically all games of this style, and which allow users to see a little of the content ahead of time, while it helps developers find problems such as performance and others.
Diablo IV PTR 2.0 arrives with a host of new features
Since the official launch of the game, there has been talk that the title will not begin to be what users really expected until the first DLC, And even from Blizzard they announced that the development was focused on completely changing the game system with Vessel of Hatred.
And this really seems like it’s going to be that way, as the title’s first expansion will arrive with a large number of changes aimed at allowing users to enjoy the game for more than the 20-30 hours that the campaign lasts by implementing changes to the progression system, the item system, the Legend system and the game’s own difficulty, which will implement new levels (Normal, Hard, Expert and Penitent) instead of world levels, along with a new level (Torment) that will be linked to the progression of the Pit.
But that’s not all we’ll find, and these changes will practically make the game very different, as they change practically the entire core of the game (something we already knew was going to happen), as there are many more new features. The ones that have caught our attention the most are obviously the new class along with the new passives and skills, but we must also highlight the new Runewords system, which returns years after its launch in Diablo 2.
This system will allow us to get a series of runes that will greatly change our character’s playing style, as they allow access to skills from other classes, as well as increase your movement speed and other things related to the character’s basic statistics, allowing us to create the perfect composition for each class.
