Whatever operator you are, most telephone companies have reached a multitude of agreements that allow them to offer their fiber services in nearly 30 million homes or offices, but in recent weeks a new war: ultra-cheap fiber under its own coverage.
In addition to the standard offer in force for each operator, some operators have begun to offer a parallel rate offer, even cheaper, but exclusive for those who have access to their own fiber footprint.
The idea of parallel offering is not new. Digi inaugurated it in March 2021, but it was not until now that the replicas began to be produced, first by Lowi, and shortly after by Finetwork.
Digi Smart vs Lowi Fit vs Finetwork
To differentiate offers with direct or indirect fiber from the same operator, Digi and Lowi have baptized its own fiber with the surname Smart and Fit respectively, so that the fiber without a last name corresponds to the general offer that we knew until now. Finetwork is less transparent and hides NEBA fiber prices on its website.
Basically, Digi Fiber Smart and Lowi Fibra Fit reduce the monthly fee by 33% forever, but only for the 33% of lucky people who live in an area with their own deployment. That is, with Smart Fiber or Fit Fiber you will save about 10 euros per month on a combined offer with indirect coverage, which starts at 30 euros. So, Smart and Fit offer fiber and mobile combos without competition, from 20 euros per month.
Finetwork’s discount between both offers is not so striking, because the offer NEBA with finetwork is noticeably cheaper and even allows you to contract your combination with unlimited data for the same price, regardless of access coverage.
Besides. The good thing is that Smart, Fit and Finetwork are accessible to current and new clients, so the moment you have your own fiber coverage instead of indirect coverage, you will be able to switch for free to the new cheapest offer.
Requirement to contract ultra-cheap fiber
The only requirement to be able to contract Digi fiber Smart, Lowi fiber Fit or the new finetwork offer is to have access to each operator’s own fiber footprint, but unfortunately, their Availability is not something that depends on users requesting it, but rather that the operator considers that it is profitable to deploy.
The number of users who can potentially benefit from ultra-cheap fiber is approximately 10.6 million UUII from Lowi and 9 million Digi UUIIbut a large part of Lowi’s network is HFC (about 7 million UUII), so the fiber in these cases is not symmetrical and the upload is limited to 100 Mbps. In the case of Finetwork we have not been able to confirm what percentage of its 20 million UUII is ultra-cheap.
To know if you have your own fiber coverage from these operators, you must check it directly at the Digi website Lowi, and finetwork, entering the address in which you want to contract fiber.
