Launched last week, Starfield will soon benefit from several notable improvements in its PC version. Among them, support for Nvidia’s DLSS technology, highly anticipated to improve in-game performance.

The PC version of Starfield improves significantly with the update deployed this September 13 by Bethesda // Source: Bethesda

Everything is not going to happen at once, and everything is not going to happen right away, but Bethesda has taken note of the first complaints from Starfield players. A week after the launch of its new RPG, the American studio announced via a blog post the upcoming arrival of several improvements and other features.

Among the most anticipated new features, the activation of DLSS technology on the PC version of Starfield. This new feature should make it possible to significantly improve the (sometimes disappointing) performance observed on certain configurations.

Starfield will soon get seriously improved on PC

Note, however, that the first update currently deployed on Starfield is only limited to correcting a few blocking bugs. This “Hotfix”, deployed urgently, will nevertheless be followed by more ambitious updates deployed “ at regular intervals »Promises Bethesda. They are the ones who will bring to the PC version of the title what it is currently lacking.

Beyond the DLSS support announced by Bethesda, the next updates of the game will provide support for “ultrawide” screens, in 32:9 format. They will also deploy a slider allowing more precise adjustment of the field of view (FOV), but also a menu dedicated to HDR calibration, as well as brightness and contrast controls. These new features will a priori arrive on PC as well as on consoles and we even learn that a new command allowing you to eat food in the game will be implemented.

“ We also work closely with Nvidia, AMD and Intel on driver support », Adds Bethesda in its press release “ and each update will include new stability and performance improvements ”, we read.

At the start of next year, Bethesda should finally deploy (on PC as well as consoles) its Creation Club, which will allow official support for mods. The arrival of city plans is also promised… but in the longer term.
