There have been many microcomputers that have helped turn video games into the global phenomenon that they are now and, unfortunately, there are a few that have not had the impact they deserved, such as the one we will talk about today, the NEC Turbografx
When we think of the great consoles of the 90s, NES, Super Nintendo, Master System, Mega Drive come to mind… and except for scholars, few remember the NEC Turbografx (and depending on the country, PC Engine or Core Grafx) , which managed to carve out a small gap between so much power of Nintendo and SEGA with a catalog of games that is still well remembered today. So today we are going to claim this wonder that arrived in Europe and, specifically, in Spain, in dribs and drabs.
A console at the top of the 90s
And since here we are very followers of the grails that are worth totally exorbitant figures, doing research we bring you this list of the five most expensive games for this console. We tell you that you are going to need to request a loan for absolutely all of them. We shut up and begin, these are the winners:
5. Soldier Blade
We can’t think of a better way to open this list than with a killer. To say that this genre is really popular is quite an understatement. Titles of this style also came out for Turbografx, with Soldier Blade being the rarest of all, costing around $1,100. A fortune, and we are just starting out.
4. Bonk 3: Bonk’s Big Adventure
Another quite popular genre during the eighties and nineties were platformers. The one we find in fourth place is quite strange, with a graphic style that we think would appeal more to a child audience. Regardless, to add it to your collections you will need a fortune, $1,500.
3. Chew Man Fu
Leaving aside the fact that its name is quite funny, this title suspiciously reminds us of the mythical Bomberman. The gameplay is exactly the same, the only thing changing is everything related to the appearance of the characters. Despite being rarer than a green dog, it is in high demand, costing $1,641.2.
2.Legend of Hero Tonma
Another platform makes an appearance again at the top, taking the silver medal. Like the matamarcianos, with the platforms, played one, played all. Of course, that fact seems to make no difference to collectors, since the prices that are paid for this game are truly crazy, which more specifically ranges around $2,650.
1. Magical Chase
Do you remember that we talked in the previous post about how the Matamatians are all the same? Well, the game that is in first place has come to shut us up, replacing the typical spaceships with a rather nice little witch on her flying broomstick. To buy it you are going to have to mortgage even your children, since it has been sold for $16,014. It’s a real savagery.
And you? Do you have any of these games in your Turbografx collection?
