If you are curious to talk to Jesus, Napoleon or Moses, this application based on artificial intelligence is the answer you were looking for.
If you want to explore a crazy new approach when it comes to interaction, an innovative AI-based app called Text With Jesus allows users to have conversations with historical and biblical figures through text messages.
This app, launched by Catloaf Software in July, uses the power of the ChatGPT artificial intelligence model to simulate dialogues with characters like Jesus Christ, Moses and many others from the Bible.
Stéphane Peter, the mastermind behind this creation, envisioned the app as an interactive extension of his previous app, Text From Jesus, which provided historical quotes but didn’t allow for interactions. Peter was inspired by the creation of ChatGPT and after researching OpenAI, he merged the technology with his new concept.
“Instead of just receiving a daily Bible verse, now you have the opportunity through this application to chat with Jesus or any other person in the Bible,” says its creator.
The application allows you to chat with biblical and historical figures, giving you informed and realistic answers as if it were ChatGPT itself but now with personality. The platform also encourages questions on theological and personal issues, with answers incorporating relevant Bible verses.
Nevertheless, this app has also generated some controversy. Although Peter trained the AI to respect Biblical tradition, some critics have pointed out the lack of theological advice and the characters’ overly soft, so to speak, responses to sensitive issues.
For example, in a conversation about same-sex marriage, the Jesus bot’s response emphasizes love and respect, despite conflicting views on religion.
Of course, mentioning that this curious application also extends beyond the religious sphere. Features conversations with a variety of historical figures, from leaders to scientists, such as Napoleon, Leonardo Da Vinci and Marie Curiegiving another engaging and educational new approach to learning about the history and lives of these great people.
If you want to download it, at the moment it is only available for devices in the Apple ecosystem (iOS and MacOS), although it is expected that it will soon land on Android.
