and although More and more Xiaomi smartphones integrate NFC technology, it is still common to run into the eternal question: and is mine compatible? In the following article we have glossed all the compatible models, present and past, and those that do not integrate NFC technology.
What is NFC technology
The benefits of NFC (acronym for Near Field Connection) are obvious. Something as simple as bringing the terminal closer to an ATM simplifies the time-consuming task of entering a PINwait for validation and for our banking service to review the pending credit.
Converting our smartphone into a bank card is very convenient both to avoid paying in cash and to automate purchases of small amounts.
Through this technology we can create identifiers to share our WiFi network, synchronize devices in a simpler and more immediate way than through Bluetooth, turn features like Airplane Mode on or off and, of course, make payments. With a smartphone equipped with NFC technology, we do not even need to enter a PIN for all purchases of less than 40 euros, according to the new PSD2 regulations.
Maybe during the early years Xiaomi didn’t pay much attention to this functionality, since its implementation was slow and full of doubts. But their possible uses and implementation in old Europe have triggered so much interest that the brand has ended integrating NFC compatibility in almost all new terminals. Let’s see which ones do and which ones don’t:

- Now go to the section ‘connect and share‘.
- Go down to the section ‘NFC’ (activate or desactivate).
