Thanks to the Live Activities offered by some sports apps, we can follow the development of the different matches in real time from the screen of our iPhone. If we have an iPhone 14 Pro we won’t even have to touch the screen; for the rest of the models, a simple touch and we will know exactly how the game is going.
Qatar World Cup 2022 live thanks to Live Activities
There are many sports applications, but not all of them offer Live Activities. Those that do allow us to follow the development of different sporting events directly in real time from the iPhone screen. Live Activities, which arrive with iOS 16, are something like a kind of interactive widget. A part of an application that, unlike traditional widgets, is updated in real time with information from the app.
These Live Activities can be seen next to the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max and on the lock screen when they are locked or on any other iPhone compatible with iOS 16. That said, let’s talk about a couple of apps that we can use to follow the Qatar 2022 World Cup matches, even if we cannot see them.
The first option is FotMob, a free application in the App Store, with which we can follow La Liga, the Premier League, the Champions League, the Europa League and, of course, the 2022 World Cup. Although the application offers a subscription to remove ads, this is not necessary to follow the matches. All we have to do is enter the game that interests us (understanding that it is being played at the moment) and touch the star-shaped button. Automatically, we will see the live results appear on the lock screen of our iPhone.
Another option, also free on the App Store, is Sports Alerts. An application in English, yes, that allows us to follow the World Cup in Qatar in addition to the MLB, NFL, NBA and various other matches. With very detailed information about each match, all we have to do is touch a game that is happening at the moment, touch the three dots button in the upper right and select Start Live Activity.
Undoubtedly there is no color between being able to watch the game, or even listen to its broadcast, or follow the results, but sometimes commitments prevent us from doing the first thing and, at least, thanks to the Live Activities we can be aware of the development of the match. All we need is our iPhone and we don’t even have to unlock it.
