When we travel to a new location we always use a map tool to know more about everything we are going to see and also to not to get lost on the way from the starting point. Google Maps is the most popular tool we currently have to carry out this action from the comfort of our sofa with our computer or mobile phone.
But although we are used to seeing Google Maps with our own mouse by zooming or removing it, there are other ways to use it. Specifically the Japanese developer Katsuomi Kobayashi has created a tool called Driving Simulator that integrates with Google Maps to be able to drive through streets around the world.
13 TRICKS to get the MOST OUT OF GOOGLE MAPS
Drive in your favorite city with this simulator on Google Maps
As its name indicates, this is a driving simulator that will allow you to imitate driving on real streets in different cities around the world. This is something totally free and uses the same interface that we have in Google Maps with the three views available: map, satellite or hybrid. Although we recommend ‘Hybrid’ as it is more realistic and has the names of the streets and the most important places.
To be able to use it, you simply have to enter the website of this Driving Simulator. Can be done through the computer’s own browser as with Chrome but also on mobile devices (also in your browser). Immediately the game information will be loaded with its corresponding instructions, and you will simply have to press ‘Start’.
At the top of the tool you will be able to enter the location where you want to drive, also accepting the coordinates. Although if you don’t have any specific point, you will be able to click on Preset locations to choose predefined locations such as Tokyo Station.
Once at the starting point you will be able to choose whether you want to drive a car or a bus, and also control the camera by clicking on ‘Tilt Down’ or ‘Tilt Up’. Additionally, you can choose the type of map as we mentioned previously.
When it is already configured you will simply have to Click on the arrows on your keyboard to start moving (forward, back, right and left) in case you are on the PC. If you use a mobile device you can do it with the virtual tool that is enabled. For us it is an entertaining way to be on Google Maps, being a new curiosity (of the many) that we find on the Internet.
