Actively sought by the FBI, Mikhail Pavlovich Matveev did not hesitate to make fun of the American institution. On his X account (Twitter), the Russian hacker published a photo of a T-shirt on which his wanted notice is printed. He claims to be protected by the Kremlin, which largely tolerates his activities.
You probably don’t know his name and yet he is one of the most fashionable pirates of the moment. Mikhail Pavlovich Matveev, or Wazawaka, m1x or even Uhodiransomwar for short, has worked with some of the biggest hacker collectives in the world, such as Lockbit and Hive. Yet he is not known for extorting data per se. A sort of “mercenary”, he is tasked by hacker groups with detecting security vulnerabilities among their targets.
It is notably thanks to – or because of him, depending on – him that Capcom was the victim of the Ragnar Locker ransomware, which led to a gigantic data leak as well as confidential information on the publisher’s business only juicy details on Resident Evil 8, not yet released at the time. Following these numerous feats of arms, it did not take long for Mikhail Pavlovich Matveev to find himself on the FBI’s list of most wanted pirates.

Wanted by the FBI, he trolls them on Twitter
A situation which does not seem to bother the principal concerned. He even allowed himself to make fun of the American authorities, via his X account (Twitter). Above, the hacker published a photo of a T-shirt, on which is printed… his wanted poster, his face displayed proudly. We doubt that he is wearing this one in the street, but it remains a real snub to the investigators who have been trying to find his trace for several months.
The fact remains that the pirate has his ideas going so far as to joke with his subscribers about a possible launch of a brand of derivative products. If the latter is so comfortable, it is, according to his own words, thanks to the protection granted unofficially by the Russian government, which voluntarily turns a blind eye to his activities as long as they concern opponents of the country.
