A compact projector with all the essentials
In Spain, its predecessor arrived with the name Mi Smart Projector 2. However, the model that we have recently known has been launched in China under the name Xiaomi Projector Youth Edition 2S, maintaining practically the same design characteristics. That is, rounded edges, compact size and minimalist design.
This new model arrives in stores with 1080p resolution and screen between 60 and 120 inches, although it is also capable of playing 4K content. It also supports HDR through the HDR10+ standard, and among its notable technologies we find improved image processing with artificial intelligence, omnidirectional automatic correction, MEMC for motion compensation, Dolby sound and eye protection against blue light.
Regarding the algorithm used to enhance the image using AIit is capable of intelligently optimizing the image by modifying color saturation, sharpness and granularity through massive learning.
If we stop to look at its technical specifications, the projector has an Amlogic T982 chip accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. For image processing, it uses DLP technology and a 0.23” micromirror DMD chip. Its transmittance ratio is 1:2:1 and it is equipped with double high-fidelity speakers. Furthermore, it should be noted that it offers a luminosity of up to 500 ANSI lumens.
This projector also offers smart functions in case you want to use it just like a Smart TV. This specific version, launched in China, offers MIUI TV as an operating system. However, if it arrives in Spain in the future, it will probably land with Android TV as standard, just like its predecessor.
As for its connections, the projector offers compatibility with HDMI 2.1, USB 3.0, includes a headphone jack port, and also has dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0.
Price and availability
In China it has been launched at a price of about 2,399 yuan, which is equivalent to about 308 euros to change. There is still no news about its availability in other territories, so we will have to wait until we know more information about it.
