The inclusion of two new devices in the federal communications commission indicates that Amazon could be about to launch two new models of Fire TV Stick. What improvements would they have?
Amazon prepares to launch two new Fire TV Stick devices, marking the first official new release since 2021 in the series. According to reports, two new devices from the brand have obtained the approval of the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) in the United States.
Although not explicitly labeled Fire TV Stick, all signs point to these new devices being part of Amazon’s popular series of media players for use on Smart TVs.
One of these devices carries the model number M3N6RA and the other K3R6AT. Both have been classified as digital media receivers from Amazon, suggesting that these are variants of the Fire TV Stick.
What makes these devices especially intriguing is their compatibility with the latest WiFi technologies. The M3N6RA model appears to support WiFi 6, while the K3R6AT model offers WiFi 6E support.
This It’s significant, as none of the current Fire TV Stick models support Wi-Fi 6E.and Amazon’s only streaming media device with this technology is the Fire TV Cube, released last year.
Amazon’s current Fire TV Stick lineup includes the Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick Lite, and Fire TV Stick 4K Max. The new models could replace one of the existing models, and given their support for WiFi 6E, they are likely to be positioned as higher-end models with support for 4K content.
A look at possible Fire TV Stick models for 2024
While no detailed specifications have been revealed, there is speculation that the new devices could be an update to the Fire TV Stick 4K. This would leave room for speculation about the second model, which could be a “Lite” version or a “Max” version of the current Amazon Fire TV Stick.
Janko Roettgers, who discovered these new devices, notes that the model numbers, M3N6RA and K3R6AT, suggest they could be replacements for existing Fire TV Stick 4K and Fire TV Stick 4K Max models. This theory makes sense, as Amazon has been using model numbers that resemble the codename of its devices in the past.
Amazon has an event scheduled for September 20, 2023, where it is expected to officially reveal these new Fire TV Sticks.. Until then, we will have to wait to see the true specifications of the products.
