Every time we have a more varied offer when it comes to accessing streaming content and at the same time that new platforms have been arriving, the qualities of the content have been improving and no, we are not talking about whether this series is better or worse . Let’s talk about the technical specifications.
For example, it is increasingly common to find 4K content with improvements such as HDR10, Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos. Since Netflix signed up for 4K resolution broadcasts in April 2014, the landscape has changed a lot and it is more common to find content in this resolution. Something that can make this application even easier for us and In this article I will explain how.
Full with 4K
And the key to finding series or movies at full resolution (we’ll park the 8K for now) is in a mobile application that can also be accessed via the web, such as JustWatch. Yes, the mobile has become a tool that helps us even when we are watching TV.
We have already talked about JustWatch on other occasions. An app that allows me to follow or find those that interest me, including the World Cup in Qatar. And now we are going to see how we allows you to find 4K content on different platforms.
For that matter, I’ve configured the app to find 4K content on those platforms I subscribe to. Is about Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, HBO Max and some other minorities.
JustWatch can be configured to search all apps globally, or selecting a specific one and searching for content only in the one we have marked.
The key is in the filter system that the application offers. JustWatch allows you to filter by different variables when finding the content that interests you.
One of those filters is the “Price” and although it may not seem like it, it is the key to finding content in 4K resolution. If we use the price filter, we will see how a small window opens and different search parameters appear in it. We must go to the end and look at one called “Quality”.
Here we can choose between “SD” (Standard Quality), “HD” (high definition) and “4K” and it is the latter that interests us and the box that we must check to start the search.
If we click on 4Kand with the precaution of having selected the platforms or platforms in which we want to search, the application will only show all the titles (series or movies or both) available in said resolution.
We will see a list and also the total available on each of the platforms will appears. Thus, for example, if we check Netflix we will see that it has 2,201 titles for 435 from Amazon Prime Video, 496 from Disney+, 140 from Apple TV+ or 35 from HBO Max. Of the rest of the platforms, only AtresPlayer has 4K content with 37 titles according to JustWatch.
