The Galaxy S25s aren’t expected until early next year, but several leaks have already hinted at some of the changes Samsung has in store for this new generation.
With its recent Galaxy S24, Samsung has relied on an already proven formula by taking the main lines of the design of the previous Galaxy S23, which was itself already based on its predecessors. If the Korean giant is usually rather cautious about changing the appearance of its devices, the next Galaxy S25 could well take the plunge.
If we are to believe the words of Korean leaker yeux1122, which corroborate leaks that we have already seen in recent months, the Galaxy S25 will adopt a new design, but the appearance of the smartphones is still unknown. However, we know that Samsung is working on larger screens.
The Galaxy S25 will be larger than the Galaxy S24
According to Eyes1122, The Galaxy 25 should be equipped with a 6.36-inch screen, a panel which will therefore be larger than the 6.2 inches of the Galaxy S24. This would therefore be one of the largest basic models of the S series for several years now, since Samsung had usually focused on fairly “compact” models.
These changes should allow the Korean giant to use a bigger battery in its device, but also better photo sensors. We also know that Samsung could this time opt for a main camera from Sony, rather than a homemade photo sensor. Samsung could also use a better cooling system if it wants to hope to be able to sufficiently cool the next Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which already promises to be much more powerful than the current generation.
Samsung will not be the only one to move towards larger screens. We know that the iPhone 16 Pro should also benefit from a larger panel, at 6.3 inches, compared to 6.1 inches on the iPhone 15 Pro. Xiaomi is also banking on a 6.36-inch panel on its Xiaomi 14, so it could well be that the next Galaxy S25 will be just as large.
It now remains to be seen what changes Samsung will have in store for us on its Galaxy S25 which is larger than the others. Whatever happens, we should find out more quickly. Qualcomm having brought forward its schedule for the launch of the next Snapdragon, Samsung should also bring forward the launch of its high-end smartphones to 2025.
