After already seven connected watches launched since the start of the year, Garmin is preparing to launch an eighth model with the Vivoactive 5.

After Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Withings and Coros, Garmin would in turn have a new connected watch in the pipeline. It must be said that the American manufacturer has been in great shape since the start of the year with no less than seven new models launched since January (Forerunner 965, Forerunner 265, Instinct 2X Solar, Fenix 7 Pro, Epix Pro Gen 2, Venu 3 and Tactix 7 Amoled). This time, it would be the turn of the Vivoactive range, more focused on sport, to be the center of attention with the Garmin Vivoactive 5.

The French leaker Billbil-kun has indeed published an article on Dealabs about the characteristics and the very upcoming announcement of a new Vivoactive 5 watch from Garmin. As a reminder, like the Venu range, the Vivoactive range is more oriented towards fitness rather than outdoor sports. Above all, the Vivoactive range is very oriented towards health and well-being. However, the latest model, the Vivoactive 4, was launched four years ago and the range is increasingly tending to be closer to the Venu models.

Expected functions similar to the Garmin Venu 3

According to information from Billbil-kun, the Garmin Vivoactive 5 would share a good number of features and functionalities with the Venu 3 and Venu 3S launched last month. This would particularly be the case of the Amoled screen, favored at the expense of the transflective MIP used until then, with a definition of 390 x 390 pixels. The Garmin watch would also benefit from automatic nap detection and measurement of different activities in a wheelchair, functions currently still reserved for Venu models.

The Garmin Vivoactive 5 would also be able to measure heart rate variability to best assess your stress level and recovery effectiveness.

In terms of autonomy, you should count on 11 days of use in standard mode and 21 hours in GPS tracking. Note also that, according to the Dealabs article, the Garmin Vivoactive 5 would be available in a single 42 mm case format, with the use of aluminum. The Garmin Vivoactive 5 would be entitled to 5 ATM certification allowing it to be used in swimming pools, as well as 4 GB storage to host music.

According to Billbil-kun, there would be no need to wait long before discovering the Garmin Vivoactive 5, since it would be announced this Wednesday, September 20. For prices, the leaker claims that the watch will be offered at 299.99 euros in France with a silicone strap.
