Google wants its assistant to be an assistant and not a catch-all. It is most curious and you may not know it, but Google Assistant can be used to create lists of all kinds, in addition to notes. And no, it is not that you open the corresponding application to do it, but in the same assistant we can do this content both with voice and with text input.
As you may be thinking, it is something that conflicts with the purpose of other applications from Google itself and, therefore, the company is going to put things in order: From now on, notes and lists will be saved in Google Keep. Of course, don’t worry because you won’t lose anything.
If you want notes and lists, use the appropriate app
something that happens Sometimes when companies develop applications they want to cover everything. Google Assistant is an application to invoke the assistant, or so it should be. However, if you try to say “OK Google, create a list”, it will then ask you to enter a name and, when it is created, you can fill it out.
In that same section of the application you can create notes and you don’t have to do it using voice commands, since you can also use manual entry as you can do in many other applications.
Now, as we say, it is something that clashes with other apps, and the closest is Keep from Google itself. It is an application that needs no introduction, it is very powerful and Its most basic use is that of making notes and lists in a very simple way..
In fact, the assistant itself recommends it when you ask about apps to make lists. And now Google has statement on his blog of support that all shopping lists and notes will be moved to Keep.
It is something that starts to be done immediately and the entire process will be automatic. The user will not need to make any options and, when the process is finished, in Keep we will see both the shopping list and the notes we have taken in the assistant.
However, There are certain cases where the content will not be moved. We leave them below:
- Notes or lists with titles longer than 999 characters
- Notes of more than 19,999 characters
- Lists with more than 999 items
- Lists with any element longer than 999 characters.
These are files that are too large for Keep, but if you have a list with almost 20,000 characters and you’re worried about losing it, don’t despair: You have until May 21, 2024 to download it from Google Takeout. After that date, those contents will be deleted.
