We are already at September 7 but the launch of Android 14 continues to elude us, to such an extent that rumors suggest that it will not happen until October. To fill the gap, Google has been delighting us all summer with a succession of additional Android 14 betas to which one more arrives: Android 14 Beta 5.3.
We were already used to .1 betas, but the fifth beta surprised us with beta 5.2 and now we have an even more unusual beta 5.3 that correct nine errors on Pixel mobiles, Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet.
Android 14 Beta 5.3
Initially, Google set itself the goal of launching two Developer Previews and four public betas, but in August the fifth beta was pulled out of the sleeve and, not content with it, later both Android 14 Beta 5.1 and Android 14 Beta 5.2 arrived, both under the pretense that they would be the very last beta. Well no.
The exception continues under rumors that the Android 14 release has been pushed back to next month, with a new version that fixes bugs to make the wait more enjoyable for those who are enrolled in the beta program and have problems using the devices.
Android 14 Beta 5.3 fixes nine bugs that, although they don’t seem to be as serious as those fixed in the past, are always welcome, especially those that caused calls to not work correctly or various stability fixes. This is the complete list:
- Fixed an issue where apps would crash in some cases after a stylish notification was sent CallStyle.
- Fixed various issues that could cause interruptions in calls or operator service.
- Fixed an issue where the system would use an inefficient path when imposing CPU restrictions on apps running in the background.
- Fixed issues with SurfaceFlinger which were causing a loss in system performance.
- Fixed an issue on Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet devices where the taskbar would sometimes become invisible when interacting with it.
- Fixed an issue on Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet devices where animation on live wallpapers would stutter when launching apps.
- Fixed an issue on Pixel Fold devices where the interface layout was misaligned when customizing the home screen.
- Fixed an issue on Pixel Fold devices where the clock on the lock screen would flicker while animating.
- Fixed various issues affecting system stability and performance.
