The Google Wallet app updates on Android smartwatches. The addition of this simple function will make your plane travel easier.
Google has created many services with a well-defined purpose. Gmail for your email, Docs, Sheets And Slides as an office suite, Google Keep in order to replace sticky notes with digital sticky notes… Others are a little more “catch-all”, but it still makes sense. This is the case of Google Wallet, the replacement for Google Pay which wants to become your virtual wallet. That’s good, that’s what the name suggests. Beyond a payment system with your smartphonethe app is also a way to keep all cards and other notes which can clutter you in physical format.
Loyalty cards, train tickets, plane tickets, concert tickets… At the end of 2023, Google Wallet will make public transport easier to manage by accepting numerous transport tickets in more than 500 cities around the world. The opportunity to consult the number of journeys you have left, to define automatic recharging or to visualize any problems on your lines. The application is also available on Wear OSGoogle's operating system dedicated to connected watches like the Pixel Watch 2. On this support, however, it lacks an obvious functionality. A deficiency now corrected.
Your Wear OS connected watch will soon be very useful during a plane trip
If your connected watch is running Wear OS 3.5 At a minimum, Google Wallet will be enriched with a new useful notification: the boarding pass for your plane journey. Surprisingly, this was not possible until now. The text just says “Boarding pass for your flight to XXX” followed by “View map”. Touching this item displays a QR code on the watch face. All you have to do is present it at the various checkpoints that request it and before boarding the plane. Practical.

As is often the case, the functionality which has just begun its deployment in the United States will undoubtedly take a little time before arriving on your wrist. Watch for updates to Google Wallet under Wear OS, this one will perhaps arrive before boarding.
