Google continues its particular process of updating the infotainment platform for cars: Android Auto. The system that links our Android mobile to the car screen received a remake Just a fortnight ago: Android Auto 12.5 arrived with no apparent changes.
The novelty lasted only a few days, as Android Auto 12.6 landed in beta version on the Play Store. 72 hours later we have New version of Android Auto for our mobile with the arrival of the stable version: you can now download it, and these are its new features.
Android Auto 12.6 for everyone
Android Auto beta versions bring the new features that reach all users in the stable version in advance by weeks, sometimes days. This is the one distributed from the Play Store to any user who downloads it. In recent times, the new versions barely bring any visible changes: Google is working “under the hood.”
Going beyond the halfway point we talked about when Android Auto 12.5 arrived, the new update is getting closer to the future Android Auto 13, which we hope will bring notable changes to the infotainment interface. Be that as it may, We have installed it and we do not appreciate any new features, not even in the applications adapted to the car screen.
Google has not yet updated its list of known bugs, so there are no fixes for these problems already reported. If last week all those signed up for the beta program received version 12.6, now this week we have the option to update the list of known bugs. It is now available for the vast majority of users.
As we said, the search engine giant has not fixed the errors related to message notifications, WhatsApp voice notes and connection failures on Samsung Galaxy smartphones. Still, it is worth updating, which you can do by following these steps:
- First, check which version of Android Auto you have installed. It may have been updated without you knowing through automatic updates.
- If you don’t have Android Auto 12.6 yet, open Google Play and tap on your profile picture, then choose “Manage apps and device». Then press «“Update all.”
- If you still don’t see the update, visit the Android Auto 12.6 page on APKMirror and download the file to your phone.
- Open the file (it will open with the package installer) and press «Update” when prompted. Remember to enable the Unknown Sources option so that Android will allow you to install the APK.
