Honor presents the new version of its interface: MagicOS 7.1. An interface that switches to Android 13 on several of its smartphones, but not all. The brand is still behind on major Android updates.
Who says new year says new version of Android. And all manufacturers naturally upgrade several of their smartphones to the latest version. It’s Honor’s turn to do so with MagicOS 7.1, the latest version of its interface, after MagicOS 7.0 released last November, upgrading several Honor smartphones to Android 13.

New in MagicOS 7.1
The main addition of MagicOS 7.1 is the MagicRing feature. It makes it possible to automate connections between devices, which takes their position into account and aims to simplify the use of several screens. This is particularly the case with a compatible computer, since you can transfer files, take calls and receive notifications. Finally, ” should also allow owners of a compatible PC to use the same keyboard and mouse on multiple devices “.
The manufacturer’s applications are also updated. This is the case of Honor Notes because the PDF annotation is emerging. Also, when you swipe down the screen with three fingers, it will save the web page displayed in Honor Notes to read or modify it. Finally, the application offers synchronization with the brand’s other devices.
Honor always behind on Android updates
It must be recognized that compared to Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus, Apple or even Google, Honor is behind on Android updates. First on the calendar: Android 13 has been available for months and on many recently released smartphones.
It is also on the update times that the manufacturer does less than the others. If three years of Android updates and five years of security patches on the Magic 5 Pro, high-end model, it is satisfactory, it is not necessarily at the level of the competition. Same thing for the Magic Vs, Honor’s first foldable smartphone in France. As for the Honor 70, count only two years to change the version of Android. But fortunately, the brand tends to do better in recent years.
