Honor continues to take steps as part of its independent journey since 2020 —when it was emancipated from Huawei— and it can already say that it has a fairly complete catalog, from high-end mobiles, such as the Magic 4 Pro, and medium ones such as the Honor 70 or the Magic 4 Lite, even their own laptops.
Now, in addition, the brand can say that it not only has a folding smartphone but 2, since this Wednesday it presented the new Honor Magic Vs in China, the successor to the original Magic V that it announced at the beginning of the year and that for now It has not left China.
Honor Magic Vs is a terminal that improves its design and reduces its weight to 261 grams, 20 grams below its predecessor thanks to a new hinge mechanism with new materials, as stated on the company’s website.

The new terminal maintains the folding book-type format, like Samsung Galazy Z Fold4, and has a 6.45-inch AMOLED exterior screen with dimensions and format practically identical to those of a normal mobile, which also has curved sides, HDR10 + and 1,070 million colors. Its refresh rate is 120 hertz.
For its part, its main interior screen has dimensions of 7.9 inches, as well as an improved aspect ratio to occupy up to 90% of the available space.
This AMOLED panel maintains the characteristics of the exterior: HDR10 +, DCI P3 and 1,070 million colors, and adds automatic warm color temperature so as not to affect sleep. The exception is the curved edges and the refresh rate, which is reduced to a rate of 90 hertz.
Honor Magic Vs
At the performance level, Honor has used the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, Qualcomm’s high-end processor for the second half of 2022, compatible with 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and with 4-nanometer process architecture, more powerful and efficient.
Its battery is 5,000 mAh, similar to the current high-end, while Honor has added a 66-watt cable fast charging system to the terminal.
The company has not wanted to neglect the phone’s camera either, with a triple rear configuration made up of a 54-megapixel (f/1.9) main sensor from the Sony IMX800 model, the same one that its Honor 70 already used, with 27-millimeter equivalence focal.
This lens is accompanied by an 8-megapixel telephoto lens that allows 3x optical and 30x digital zoom and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 122-degree range of vision and that also works for macro mode.
For its part, the front camera is multiplied by 2: one perforated on the interior screen, 16 megapixels; and another perforated on the identical exterior screen, also 16 megapixels.
