Meta announces that its virtual reality platform of its metaverse, Horizon Worlds, will soon be accessible on the web (and therefore via smartphone or PC). In addition, you can also share content on Instagram Reels.
Horizon Worlds is the name of the flagship application of Meta (formerly Facebook) in the metaverse. Basically, it’s an interactive virtual reality platform where you can hang out with friends and where developers can create a whole bunch of VR experiences.
However, until now, you needed a VR headset to go to Horizon Worlds. But during its Meta Connect conference, Mark Zuckerberg’s company announced that it will be possible to access the platform from the web. In other words, you can go there from a browser on a PC or a smartphone.
Alas, the company has not given more details and it is therefore not yet known when Horizon Worlds will actually be accessible via the web.
Horizon Worlds on Instagram
That’s not all. Meta also announces that content from Horizon Worlds can be shared on Instagram via Reels videos.
An announcement that may surprise and, at the same time, it was a little to expect. Instagram is one of the most popular applications of the Meta group and the latter has every interest in creating bridges between its different platforms.
Taking advantage of Instagram to push the Horizon Worlds project, which Mark Zuckeberg believes in a lot, seems to be rather relevant in the web giant’s strategy.
