Thanks to it, we can place our iPhone in a horizontal position while it charges to see a series of widgets at a large resolution, turning the iPhone into a kind of smart screen. Now that we all have it at hand, let’s see what configuration possibilities it has.
iOS 17 turns your iPhone into a smart screen
First of all, we must clarify an important point: this Sleep mode it will only be displayed permanently on the always-on screen of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro. In the rest of the models compatible with iOS 17 we will also have this Sleep mode, but with the screen turning off after a few seconds.
The only thing you have to do to activate this Sleep mode on your iPhone is (in addition to having iOS 17 installed) place it in a stand that allows charging while the iPhone rests horizontally. A new screen will appear automatically, and you can swipe horizontally to switch between three different screens:

If you want to customize each of these screens, you can do it by holding your finger on them. The iPhone will ask you for your FaceID or the unlock code and an interface very similar to that of watchOS will appear right there so you can use several different widgets depending on the screen:
Of course, the number of Widgets available for Sleep mode It can increase depending on the applications you have installed. For example, Uber Eats can show you the process of a delivery order that you have ordered thanks to its Live Activities.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see how the number of Widgets and options available for this Sleep mode increases over time, with Apple and third-party developers providing more screens. For iPhone models that always have the screen on, it can be a great success.
