Screen dimming problem on Samsung phones can be a very common problem. This issue is not usually caused by a hardware failure and is usually software or settings related.

How to fix screen blackout problem on Samsung phones?

Below you can find the steps that can be followed to fix the screen blackout problem on Samsung phones.

  1. Check Screen Brightness Settings: Having the screen brightness settings configured automatically means that your phone automatically adjusts the brightness to conserve battery life. So, to fix the screen dimming issue, check the brightness settings and try adjusting the settings manually. Go to Settings > Display > Brightness & Auto Adjust where you can adjust the settings.

  2. Check Battery Saver Mode: Battery saver mode is designed to extend your phone’s battery life. However, having this mode turned on may cause the screen blackout issue. Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Saver Mode and here you can turn this mode off.

  3. Check Application Settings: Some apps can automatically change your phone’s display settings. So, check the app settings and if there is such an app, uninstall it or change its settings.

  4. Reboot Device: Your phone may have a software glitch which is why it is experiencing the screen blanking issue. In this case, restart the device and check if the problem is fixed.

  5. Check for Updates: The update is designed to update your phone’s software and help resolve issues. So, check for any updates available in your settings and try to update your phone.

  6. Factory Reset: In cases where all other steps fail, you can try to factory reset the device as a last resort. Since this process will delete all your data, you need to make a backup beforehand. Go to Settings > Backup & Reset > Factory Data Reset and initiate the process.
