So you can free up storage in Gmail with two simple tricks that will get you to recover the free space that Google gives you for Google Drive, Google Photos and Gmail.

How to free up space in Gmail is something that we have all wondered. This email service provides 15 GB of free space that is shared with the rest of Google applications and services. This amount may seem like enough, but the reality is that, many times, it falls short sooner rather than later.

Receiving one email after another drains your Gmail storage. Solving this situation is not complicated, but it is quite tedious if you do not know the proper methods. How to free up space in Gmail is somewhat tricky since there are a series of actions that make this task easier in general.

Google Drive, Google Photos and Gmail share the same storage. Keeping this in mind makes it easier to understand that the 15 GB fills up sooner than expected. Google Drive can store everything from documents to multimedia, Google Photos takes care of both photos and videos, and Gmail stores all the emails you receive.

To delete emails effectively you need to know how Gmail works. The emails that you receive have a weight that depends on the files that have been attached or that are integrated into the message, taking this into account, a search can be made for the emails that are using up free space.

How to free up space in Gmail: tips and tricks

Remove spam with ‘unsubscribe’. By writing ‘unsubscribe’ or ‘unsubscribe’ in Spanish in the Gmail bar, what it will do is show you all the junk emails that have arrived in your tray and, therefore, you will be able to eliminate them by selecting them all apart from the fact that you will also have the option of unsubscribe from these promotional emails.

Eliminate large emails with ‘size:10M’. You will also have to write this in the Gmail bar and, of course, it will have to be without the quotes. What this trick will do is show all the emails with heavy elements and that are taking up space in your Gmail tray. You can delete and recover free space for Google Photos or Google Drive.

These two tricks are basic when it comes to freeing up free space occupied by emails. It is important to note that the second trick can be modified at will, adding a different weight of the files to be more precise in the search for emails that are taking up free space that can be used for other things in Google services.
