Sometimes an address isn’t specific enough, or the place you’re looking for doesn’t have a specific address. When this happens, you can use the precise coordinates to locate a place.
Google Maps is one of the most popular GPS navigation tools on the market today. You can easily find tourist spots, restaurants and map routes that suit your needs.
This app is the most efficient and accurate way to obtain them. If we are at home, for example, and we want to find out the coordinates of a place that does not appear on Google Maps, it is very simple.
Open Google Maps and right-click a location on the map. The coordinates will appear at the top of the list. You can click on the coordinates to automatically copy them to the clipboard and then paste them into WhatsApp, or wherever you prefer.
On the other hand, imagine that we want to go to a point not located on the map and we are already away from home, for example. We can do it from any device, be it iPhone or Android.
For this, again, we open Google Maps. Navigate to the place you want to find the coordinates of (you can scroll and zoom with your fingers). Touch and hold an unpinned location on the map and a red pushpin will appear. You will see the coordinates in the search bar. As before, these can be copied and pasted wherever you want.
The GPS coordinates received from Google Maps may have an offset that could range between 1.5 meters and 9 metersdepending on the area studied, as reported by Google itself.
Cities will have more images available, and Google will update its maps of urban centers more frequently than those of the countryside. However, tall buildings and signal interference can cause GPS locations to drift more in denser areas.
