For many years many of us have accumulated MP3 files to listen to music from the computer or from those portable devices inspired on the iPod. Now, streaming is the preferred way for many to listen to music, but if you have an MP3 music collection you probably still want to enjoy it.
Whether it’s because one of your favorite artists doesn’t have all of their music available for streaming, or simply because you’ve been accumulating MP3 songs for years, it’s very easy to listen to all of these songs from our mobile. We can install an application or listen to them directly from Spotifyand the latter is very easy to do. Listen to them from our mobile
Follow these steps to listen to your MP3 songs directly on Spotify
Spotify is a platform that has access to countless songs from countless artists via streaming, as well as many podcasts. However, many users still like to have access to your music locally, without the need for an internet connection. Whether it’s to save data or just because they prefer it that way, I personally tend to buy songs or entire albums in MP3 when they are specific versions that are not available for streaming.
There are many apps that we can use as music players on Android, some are really good and even integrate with streaming services, but if you are a Spotify user you can use this app to listen to all the music you have stored on your mobile, and it is not necessary to have a Premium subscription.
To listen to our own library of songs on Spotify We follow these steps:
- We access the application from our Android mobile and click on our photo or avatar in the upper left corner
- Next, click on Settings and privacy
- We move until we find the option Local files and click on it
- Finally, we activate the switch “Show audio files from this device”
From now on, Spotify will have access to our local music file library. This is how we can access them and listen to them from Spotify:
- We click on Your library in the bottom bar of the application
- We select the folder Local files
- And that’s it. Now we can listen to all the MP3 songs that are stored on our mobile. In my tests, I was even able to play a FLAC files Using Spotify
Something we should keep in mind is that Spotify usually adds all the audio files to our mobile, that is, it will even show us the WhatsApp voice notes from this section, so the folder may be a little messy and full of files. To solve this, I have created playlists and added the songs I want to listen to from my local library, and this way I can keep my MP3 music more organized.
