The process of resetting a Chromecast, as with any device, what it does is delete the data that we have been storing, as well as the available configurationso that both whoever is going to use it and you if you want to use it again, you will have to configure it again from scratch.

Chromecast (1st, 2nd, 3rd Generation or Ultra)
in case you want reset the Chromecast from the Google Home application itselfthe first thing you should do is click on the first screen and where all the connected devices that are linked to your account appear, select the Chromecast you want to reset.
You will see a series of parameters on the screen, but you should pay attention to the toothed wheel that appears above and that allows access to the “Settings”. Once you click on the wheel icon, you will see a menu that allows you to access more settings and among them an option appears that is “Factory reset”. All that remains is to click on that section and the Chromecast will once again be completely clean of data and settings.
If, on the other hand, you want to carry out the process from the device itself, you have to make a differentiation according to the Chromecast model you want to clean. The only common requirement, in all cases, is that the Chromecast must be turned on and connected to the television through the HDMI port.
In the case of the first generation Chromecast, the original, once we make sure that it is connected to the television via HDMI and turned on, it is necessary press and hold the Chromecast button for at least 25 seconds, or until the LED starts flashing red. When the LED light changes color and flashes white and the image on the TV disappears at the same time, you can release the button and the Chromecast will reset.
In the most current models, such as the 2nd and 3rd generation Chromecast, as well as in the Chromecast Ultra, the process to reset it goes through press and hold the center button of the Chromecast until the LED indicator flashes orange. When the LED light turns white and stops flashing, you can release the button and the Chromecast will reset.
Leaving Chromecast clean with Google TV
