In this article we are going to explain how to view Safari downloads on the iPhone. It is a very simple trick, but it requires a series of steps that must be done, since, to begin with, the menu section necessary for this will appear in a contextual button. So if you have recently been within the Apple ecosystem, or you don't remember very well how to do this function, here we are going to show you how you can do it in two different ways: from the browser itself and from the Files app.
With the arrival of iOS 11, the iPhone completely changed by incorporating the Files application. Thanks to it, we have a Finder in the palm of our hand, in which we can have all the content we want located and stored, without depending on third-party applications. Among all the content that can be saved, there are also Safari downloads on the iPhone.
How to view Safari downloads on iPhone from the browser
In this first section we are going to teach you how to see all your Safari downloads, without having to leave the browser. This is not a list with the entire history, but here we will only see all those files that we have downloaded in our current browsing session.
To do this, it is necessary that a contextual menu appears in the search bar, which It will only appear if we enter a web page. The next thing we have to do is go to a site that allows you to download content, and we will have to make sure that a dialog box appears that asks us whether or not we want to download that content.
The context menu will appear on the left side of the search bar which, depending on our configuration, will be at the bottom or top of the screen.
The contextual menu that appears opens if we click on the icon that has two letters a, with the shape “AA”. If we do, a drop-down bar will open in which we will see a series of options. In the case of downloads, we will have to have previously downloaded content so that we get the option to open the list with everything we have stored during the browser session. Here, once we have the file, we can open it directly.
How to view Safari downloads on iPhone with the Files app
When we want to locate the file that we have downloaded, without leaving the browser by pressing the magnifying glass icon, to the right of the file, or, we have already exited the browser, everything will remain in the native Files app.
In this case, it is as simple as following the following path: Files > Explore. Here it will depend on where we have configured the download storage. If everything we download in Safari is saved in iCloud, we will have to do the following: Files > Explore > Locations > iCloud Drive > Downloads. If, on the other hand, all our Safari downloads are saved in the local memory of our iPhone, we will have to do the following route: Files > Explore > Locations > On my iPhone > Downloads.
