Loop Components is something revolutionary based on the Fluid Framework, its open source platform that wants to revolutionize Office. This feature allows you to create and share interactive and collaborative objects on different platforms. With Loop plugins, you can insert a task list, table, note, or chart into a Teams chat, Outlook email, or web page.
How to get the most out of Loop with Planner and To-Do
One of the advantages of Loop Components is that they tasks created in these objects are automatically synced with Planner and To Do. These are Microsoft’s task management apps. This way, tasks can be accessed and edited from different places and keep up with the progress of the project.
According to the Microsoft blog:
With this change, all tasks created in these lists will be automatically synced and visible in Planner, and assigned tasks will show up in To Do in the ‘Assigned to me’ smart list. These tasks will also be visible in all apps that display Planner and To Do tasks, such as the Tasks app in Microsoft Teams.
To use Loop Components, we start by typing “/” in a text field and selecting the type of component we want to insert. You can then add more content to the component and assign tasks to users by mentioning or selecting them.
To see the tasks created in the Loop Components in Planner, you can click on the six dots menu and select the option Open in Planner. There you can see the plan corresponding to the component and modify the tasks according to the options offered by Planner, such as adding labels or notes.
To view assigned tasks in All, you can access the Assigned to me smart list, where all to-dos coming from different sources, including Loop Components, will be displayed. There you can mark tasks as completed or change their due date.
This is a feature that makes collaboration and productivity easier by integrating tasks with other Microsoft 365 apps. The feature is available to Loop users, which has been in public preview since March.
