Like every week we have something new to tell you about Microsoft Teams. The Microsoft platform does not stop for any day and this time we have to talk to you about some new Zoom buttons. We tell you what these new buttons are for.
Zoom buttons are a new feature that Microsoft Teams has introduced in its public preview, and that allows you to control the zoom level when viewing a shared screen during a meeting. In this way, the size of the shared content can be adjusted to see it better, without losing detail or quality.
The zoom buttons are very useful for better view the content of shared screens, especially when it comes to small text, complex graphics or highly detailed images. With the zoom buttons, you can zoom in or out of shared content with just a click, without having to use gestures or keyboard shortcuts.
The zoom buttons also allow restore the original size of the shared content, to see it again as the presenter is showing it. In addition, the zoom buttons display an indication of the current zoom level, so you know if you’re viewing content zoomed in or out.
The zoom buttons feature is available in Microsoft Teams since public preview 1.4.00.2879 or laterbut you have to activate it manually by following these steps:
- Open Microsoft Teams and click on the profile icon in the upper right corner.
- Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
- On the General tab, check the Show preliminary features box.
- Restart Microsoft Teams for the changes to take effect.
Once the feature is enabled, the zoom buttons can be accessed during a meeting with a shared screen by following these steps:
- Join a meeting with a screen share or start a screen share from within a meeting.
- Click the Maximize Screen icon in the upper right corner to view the shared screen in full screen.
- Click the Zoom in (+) or Zoom out (-) buttons in the bottom right corner to zoom in or out of the shared content.
- Click the Reset (100%) button in the lower right corner to revert to the original size of the shared content.
Zoom buttons are a very handy and easy-to-use feature that can enhance your screen sharing experience in Microsoft Teams. If you want to give it a try, just follow the steps above and start adjusting the zoom level according to your preferences.
