Google brings interesting news from Silicon Valley. The new major update to its operating system, Android 13, will have a novelty that will transform the way we upgrade mobile. The Xiaomi 13, the company’s next top of the range, I would be the first to receive it.
Any Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO mobile that wants to use GMS (Google services, applications such as Gmail or YouTube) and that comes to market with Android 13, must adopt the ‘seamless updates’ or uninterrupted updates.
Refresh in the background, reboot and you’re done
Currently, and as a general rule, to update our Xiaomi mobile we had to download the update and the installation is carried out with the mobile turned offdisplaying a status bar and then restarting with the update applied.
With Android 13’s seamless update system, you no longer need to turn off your device, but the update will be applied in the background and we will only have to restart it when it is finished, being able to use the mobile at all times during the installation.
This is possible thanks to a system of partitions in the internal storage of the device. With the current method, our Xiaomi downloads the Android version in one of those partitions, but you should go into it and install it. With the new method, this process is done virtuallywithout interrupting the use that we are giving it.
Although this is a feature that Google implemented with Android 7.0 six years ago, now it becomes mandatory for all manufacturers who want to have the Android 13 license, so every Xiaomi mobile launched with the new operating system will have this new update method.
