Although normally when I sit down to watch a movie or a series I tend to be on my own time and forget about work, sometimes I am interested in waiting for the arrival of an email or a specific message. Yes, you can leave the phone on sound, but there is an application for Fire TV that shows notifications from your Android mobile on the TV when necessary.
The app in question is the sister of 'Notifications for Android TV', an application that we have already told you about previously and that works for smart TVs with Android TV or Chromecast and is quite similar, in that it is made by the same dev. In this case, the application is also free and is Designed to work with Fire TV devices or smart TVs that have Amazon OS.
How does it work Notifications for Fire TV
The application in question is called 'Notifications for Fire TV' and can be found for free both on Google Play Store as in the Amazon app platform, since to use it you need to download and install them on both your Android mobile and your Amazon device. Unfortunately it is not available in the App Store, so if you have an iPhone phone, you will not be able to use this function.
Likewise, it is essential that both the phone and the Amazon Fire TV are connected to the internet through the same Wi-Fi.
Thus, once installed on the phone and opened, on the first screen we will have to select the language (Spanish is one of the available options). Then we will see a list of automatically detected devices and we mark the Fire TV, which will appear with its corresponding IP address (if this is not the case, we can do it manually).
In the meantime, we will have to have the TV and the Fire TV on and with the application, since we will have to pair both devices there as well, in a similar configuration screen with the IP address.
The configuration does not entail any special difficulty and its operation is essentially that The mobile acts as a server to receive notices to the Fire TVwhich shows them on the TV screen.
The idea is the following: once installed and configured, we can modify which mobile applications we want notifications to be displayed on the television. What applications allow you to configure the arrival of notifications? Basically any, since it is compatible with the typical ones: WhatsApp, Gmail, SMS and be careful because it also works with phone calls.
Of course, for them to be shown on TV we will first have to mark them in the list of the mobile app. This point is important because we do not want to receive all of them (since it can spoil the experience of enjoying the viewing) but we do want to receive a certain one, for example WhatsApp. In short: it is possible and highly recommended select notifications for which apps are displayed on the TV.
From that moment on, we will be able to watch content or browse through our Amazon Fire TV and when a notification from one of these arrives on our mobile phone, it will be launched on the television screen and shown with an icon. If we wish, we can see them full screen and move between notifications to read them all.
