If there are two fears I face with my mobile, one of them is running out of battery, which I cannot always remedy because eventually there will be a time when it will inevitably run out. Luckily, the other is a easy to fix problem: running out of storage space.
Using that old expression of “every teacher has his own book”, here I want to tell you what I have written down in mine. What are those tips that I apply and recommend applying to Do not fill the mobile memory and thus always have enough space.
Google Files is my go-to cleaner
I’ve tried many file managers for Android, but I always end up going back to Google Files to free up space. It’s the Google native file manager which, in fact, comes already installed on most mobile phones. And the main reason why I keep coming back is its cleaning manager.
Provides a tab where In less than a minute, it performs a complete memory cleanup which helps me to always keep my storage on top of everything. This includes deleting duplicate photos and other files, something that we often tend to accumulate unconsciously and which takes up a lot of space in the long run.
I admit that I don’t use it every day, although it’s not necessary. As a general rule Just use the cleaner once a week. so that it can find enough unnecessary data to delete. Being also native and free, it is the one I always recommend.
Files by Google
Free up space on your device with cleaning recommendations. Find files faster with simple search and navigation.
I empty the cache of apps relatively frequently
Among the data that Google Files deletes is part of the cache files. However, it is not as deep a clean as the one we get with the manual method of clearing the cache of the apps. Therefore, I resort to Clear the cache of the apps I use the most and therefore take up more space with these temporary files.
Simply go to the mobile settings, enter the application panel, select the app in question and click on ‘Clear cache’. And this, like the cleaner, I usually do it once a week or less frequentlyThere is nothing established in this regard and in fact there are times when it is not useful.
Telegram is my unlimited and free cloud
A good way to save space and money is to use free cloud storage services or those that at least offer a certain capacity without paying. And here Telegram becomes more than a messaging app by offering Unlimited storage to any user.
The only drawback is that It’s 2GB per file, But I usually don’t go overboard. So what I do is create different private groups that are just for me and that I organize by topic. For example, I have one for photos, another for work documents, and another for personal documents.
Another advantage is that I can access those files from any other devicesince Telegram is not only present on Android and iPhone mobiles, but also on computers through desktop apps and via the web.
WhatsApp is a drinking fountain, but I set limits
Even though WhatsApp is not my main messaging app, I have it installed and I still use it. And despite the infrequency of use, Groups are often filled with images and audio that end up taking up a lot of space. In fact, it is one of the apps that usually takes up the most space on my phone.
Therefore, apart from emptying the WhatsApp cache, I also take advantage of its file manager (it’s in the settings) to delete all the unnecessary files I receive. In addition, I always have the option configured in the settings so that photos and videos are not downloaded automatically, as well as preventing them from being saved in the gallery.
There are obviously more ways to save space on an Android phone. I use those methods myself, but if I think about my routines, these are the four things I look at most often and most closely. And so far They work very well for me to keep storage at bay and prevent it from reaching a point where you have to do a deeper cleaning or resort to more complex methods.
