The new one Black Myth: Wukong is on everyone’s lips right now, and it’s no wonder because it’s only been on the market for two days and already has thousands of fans, as it was one of the most anticipated titles of this year. However, its launch has been considerably tarnished among owners of a PC equipped with a processor 13th or 14th Gen Intel Coreas they are suffering from numerous problems that prevent their correct operation. Aware of this, the game developers have published a possible solutionand in this article we explain it to you so that you can carry it out.
We already know that Intel has been experiencing problems and controversies for months regarding the instability of its 13th and 14th generation processors, and despite the fact that several mitigation measures have already been launched, the root problem seems not to have been fully resolved and continues to cause many headaches, not only for users but also for game developers.
Intel and Black Myth: Wukong = trouble
Fortunately, Game Science, developer of Black Myth: Wukong, has provided a possible solution to the problems that users with Intel CPUs are experiencing in their game. They have done so through the game’s own Steam page and the truth is that it can be a bit complicated to find and also to execute, which is why we have decided to write this article to tell you about it in the simplest way possible.
Asmongold and his chat are doing predictions together on what % Wukong game shaders will get to before it crashes
Its gradually rising each time ?? https://t.co/LBWVdnY1kU

In the post above you can see an example: streamer Asmongold was so fed up with not being able to even start the game to do a live stream that he started a pool with his followers to see at what point in the loading process the error would occur. Hilarious, but also quite unfortunate.
That said, let’s get on with the solution, but as we said, the instructions provided by the developer are a little vague, so we’re going to try to detail them more so that they are more understandable and are proper instructions.
- First of all, make sure you have the latest BIOS installed on your motherboard, as Intel’s mitigation patches for these processors came in the form of a new BIOS on the motherboard. This, as you know, depends a lot on the manufacturer of your motherboard, so you will have to visit their website, download the corresponding BIOS and perform the update process as they explain it to you.
- The developer says that one possible solution is to underclock the processor. This should not be necessary if you have the latest BIOS installed, but we leave you a tutorial so you know how to underclock and undervolt the processor.
- Many users claim that downloading and installing Intel XTU and lowering the processor multiplier to just 1 has managed to fix the issue.
- The next point that the developer of Black Myth: Wukong makes is to disable shader compilation in the game. They do warn that doing this means they can’t guarantee that the game will run smoothly, but hey, it’s better than not even getting it to work, right? In any case, they do say to disable shader compilation that happens when the game starts up, but they don’t tell you how… that’s what we’re here for.
- Start the game by choosing the DirectX 11 graphics engine. This skips the shader compilation.
- To do this, right-click on Black Myth: Wukong in Steam and select Properties.
- In the “General” tab, scroll down to “Launch Parameters” and in the box type “-dx11” (without the quotes). That’s it, the game will launch using the DirectX 11 graphics API and the shader issue will be ignored.
