If you use WhatsApp States, this update interests you

WhatsApp States made their first appearance in 2017. Since then, the function has remained almost identical to its beginnings. Now, almost six years after its release, the company has presented several novelties that allow renewing the experience of the States. With them, they promise to help you “express yourself and connect with others more easily”, as they comment in their official blog.

On this occasion, WhatsApp confirms the arrival of five different functions in its States. From reactions, to voice states, going through aesthetic and functional improvements. All these features promise to elevate the way you already used WhatsApp States since its launch.

WhatsApp continues to improve its platform. Very recently we reviewed the 6 new features that Meta is preparing for its instant messaging application. While the service has taken some time to catch up to its competition in terms of features, they seem determined to do soand this review of the States is part of the strategy.

WhatsApp States are renewed

The new States of WhatsApp

voice states. This is probably the newest feature of all. Before you could already share images, videos, GIFs and text in your WhatsApp States. Well, from now on, voice recordings of up to 30 seconds are also added. Thus, if you find it more comfortable to share your experiences through oral narration, now you have the possibility to do so.

status rings. This is another of the main characteristics, and presents us with novelties at an aesthetic and functional level. With status rings, you can quickly see which of your contacts have shared new posts without ever leaving the Chats tab. If you see that one of them has a circle around their photo -green on Android and blue on iOS-, you just have to touch it to display the Status uploaded by that person.

link preview. When you share links in your WhatsApp States, they will no longer be seen as a line of text. Instead, you and your contacts will get a preview of what’s on the web. Thus, we not only see improvements in the functional section by knowing what a link contains before opening it, but also an aesthetic improvement of the application.

private or public selector. With the new selector it is much easier and faster to choose which contacts you want to show a specific publication to before uploading it. The last setting will be saved.

new reactions. Quickly respond to the States of your friends and contacts with the new reactions that WhatsApp has included in its application. Just swipe up within a Status, and select the emoji you want to send. A feature inherited from Instagram.

If you don’t already have the functions described, don’t worry. Although WhatsApp has already published the update for its States, deployment could take weeks to reach all users.
