But today we receive a very curious piece of information that surprises us even more. Apparently they had sold 900 tons of H100 graphics cardsaimed at AI.
How much is 900 tons of GPU?
Said this way it may seem like an exaggeration, but no, it is not. And 900 tons are equivalent to about 300,000 graphics cards, a number confirmed by the brand itself, which registered 10.3 billion dollars in just one quarter. These data would not be something specific either, since it is expected that they will be repeated, or even improve in the next one.
The calculation has been made based on a weight approximation by which the NVIDIA H100 PCIe would weigh 1.2 KG and the Nvidia H100 SXM module would reach 2 KG. And although these are estimates based on similar brand sizes, we don’t care if they are 900 tons or not. It wouldn’t be far though. The data that really matters is the quantity sold, and that is crazy.
This gives us an even more surprising result and that is that the forecasts do not stop, even with room for improvement, so we could say that NVIDIA would be selling around 3,600 tons annually, or what is the same 1.2 million cards H100 GPU graphics. Only in that model.
Furthermore, this falls short, since the stock problem is real, and that is why the probability of having sold more by having had better production is more than an assumption. We’ll see how they face next year, but it doesn’t look bad.

Curious, right? And this only in 3 months and with a single model of all the types of products and versions that the company would have. So the total number of overall annual sales would skyrocket much higher.
Now we understand that growth in the stock market and support from investors and brands. NVIDIA has a future for a while, and wants to position itself even more advantageously in first place. Especially in matters of Artificial Intelligence, something that has been betting a lot on in 2023 and that has even more to say in 2024.
We really want to see what they can surprise us with next year, since this AI thing can mean a very big change in our lives, not only for leisure, but at a medical level, security and other sectors of public interest. Of course, be careful, since we have already seen that not everything is good and we could get out of control. Let’s hope NVIDIA knows what it’s doing.
