Tech News Desk – Tech giant Apple has released a new update of the operating system iOS 16.5 for its iPhone users. With the new update, the company has introduced many great features including new wallpapers, sports tab in Apple News. The iOS 16.5 update was earlier released for beta testing. Let us know that less than a month is left for WWDC 2023 and iOS 17. That is, iOS 16.5 could be the last update for iOS 16. iPadOS 16.5 update has also been released along with iOS 16.5.

The update integrates the Following and Search tabs into one tab in the Apple News app on the iPhone. A new Sports page has been added to the Apple News app with iOS 16.5. Users will be able to follow their favorite sports teams, players and different leagues. In addition, Apple has also added My Sports score and schedule cards to News, allowing users to access additional information about specific games on the Games page.

Apart from this, the company has also introduced Pride Celebration Wallpaper. This wallpaper is introduced to respect the LGBTQ+ community and their culture. The new wallpaper can be used on both the lock and home screens and comes with some interesting animations. The iOS 16.5 update also brings fixes for Spotlight and Podcasts in CarPlay. The update also fixed a bug for Screen Time settings that previously wouldn’t reset or sync features across all Apple devices. The iOS 16.5 update is available for all iPhone 8 and later models.
iPadOS 16.5 Update
Apple has also released iPadOS 16.5 update for iPad along with iOS 16.5. The iPadOS 16.5 update doesn’t come with the new Pride wallpaper, but it does get an updated iOS 16.5-like sports section in the Apple News app. There is also a solution for iPad users with problems with the Spotlight and Screen Time settings. The update is available for all iPad Pro models, iPad Air 3rd generation, iPad 5th generation, and iPad mini 5th generation and later.
