What deadlines does the Treasury set for 2023 Income returns?
As usual, the Tax Agency sets a long period to not only review the returns submitted, but also to make payments to the corresponding taxpayers. There is nothing new this year and a deadline has been set from today (April 1) until December 31. There is a tendency to think that the sooner it is presented, the sooner the refund will be made and although in many cases this is the case, it does not have to be.
If the Treasury makes the deposit from January 1, 2025, it will have to do so with an interest in your favor of around 4%
Depending on the level of work of the administration that is reviewing it, it may take more or less time. The process will also be extended if there is an error to be corrected, of which you will be informed via notification. And so it can be delayed until the last day of the year.
If it arrives on January 1, 2025 and you have not collected the refundsomething that is not common, but not strange either, you will not only be able to file a claim but will also be refunded with interest of 4.0625% as explained by the AEAT itself on its website.
