Meta has one of its strengths in Instagram, which continues to improve in recent months with palpable news such as the renewal of its menu or expanded text notes. However, the Menlo Park-based company appears to have ready a new app with which to conquer our phones.
As we read in Bloomberg, Meta will launch a new application in the summer completely independent of Instagramand will focus on what Twitter already does: text posts.
Meta could adopt Mastodon
This application, which is kept secret for the moment, is being tested by celebrities and influencers. According to the media, Instagram has been in business for a few months direct conversation with some content creatorsbut none of them have been able to access the full version.
It will be independent of Instagram, so it will not form a new section or functionality added to the app that we all know. So, what relationship does it have with the social network of images? Well then, we can connect our personal account to login.
According to the words of Lia Haberman, professor of social marketing at the University of California, this new app may be compatible with other alternative services such as Mastodon. A few words that we can read in the tweet along with a screenshot.

The last few months have not been totally placid for Twitter, because since the arrival of Elon Musk the controversy has been served. Perhaps this has been the opportunity that Meta does not want to wastegoing directly to the niche occupied by the blue bird social network.
On the other hand, as we know, Elon Musk’s intentions are to turn Twitter into “an application for everything”, something that Haberman considers it will happen before in Meta: “they’re much more likely to get there first (Instagram).” The reality is that the firm that owns Facebook wants to at least try.
In addition, they are not the only voices that warn of the new application. The news website money control already warned last March about this service, to which he gave a codename labeled “P92”. Be that as it may, there is less to go for a summer that seems entertaining if Meta finally decides to launch a mobile application with which to rival Musk’s service.
