Technology News Desk!!! Meta-owned Instagram will soon allow some users to create polls in the comments section of their posts, giving creators another way to use their content to drive more engagement. Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced the test on his broadcast channel, saying that polls can be added to regular feed posts as well as comments on Reels. They posted, “We’re starting a small test for adding or voting on a poll in the comments of a feed post or Reel. We’re always looking for new ways to interact with friends and creators.” ‘
This is a limited test for now, but Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said in his update that it will be made available to everyone soon. Polls will appear in the comments section, similar to Stories, where they have been available to users as stickers for years. According to Mosseri’s screenshot, other users will be able to see how many people voted on a specific poll.
At this time, it is unclear how long polls will remain open after they are posted, or whether users will be able to select from different time frames to continue receiving votes. Meanwhile, Meta has introduced a new feature that will let users block Instagram from collecting their data across apps and websites they visit.
As part of its expansion, the tech giant is adding the ability to disable such tracking on Instagram, so users can check which businesses are sharing information with Meta, disconnect from specific activities or Can clear the information collected.
