The bugs accumulate on the iPhone 14 Pro which have been available since September 16, the latest problem has been reported on several support forums, it concerns the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max during their charging phase. Many new iPhone owners have noticed that random restarts can occur during the charging cycle.
Another bug!
If you have the iPhone 14 Pro or the iPhone 14 Pro Max, you may have observed that it asks you for the PIN code of your SIM card, in the morning when you wake up. This behavior is supposed to occur exclusively after a manual restart user feedback, however, many Apple customers have noticed that newer iPhones tend to reboot so random and without action on the part of the user!
According to many feedbacks, this anomaly would only occur while charging your iPhone. Whether in Lightning, MagSafe or wireless, the result is the same.
Here is what we can see in messages posted on Reddit:
I just received the iPhone 14 Pro and since noticed that it restarts during charging (MagSafe/Cable). I can’t find anything online and other than that it works normally. It does not reboot at all when not on the charger. Anyone else having similar issues?
Another user explains:
Same problem here, 14 Pro Max on iOS 16.0.1. Restarts every 10-20 minutes while charging. I also noticed that when it restarts itself, any messages or calls I received have the unsaved number even though it is in my contacts.
On the side of Apple’s support forum, technical support advisors gave some manipulation to be done to possibly resolve the anomaly:
- Full restore from backup with DFU
- Full recovery from backup in recovery mode
- Disable Optimized Charging
- Uninstall the Eufy app (Why this specific app? No idea…)
For now, the majority of people who have tested these tips from Apple did not bring positive feedback. There is a good chance that the Cupertino company is currently investigating this new bug which is becoming very common among some owners of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max).
Some users affected by this bug have noticed that the iPhone is more likely to restart when it starts charging between 90 and 95%. Fortunately for Apple, we generally wait for the battery to drain much more before starting a new charging cycle!
