We are talking about the models RX 7300 and RX 7400new models based on RDNA 4 architecture that are supposedly in development and could see the light of day before the end of the year or at the beginning of 2025 within the framework of the CES that is held every year in Las Vegas.
Although AMD has not officially confirmed the existence of these models, veteran industry sources claim that this is the case. However, it seems that development is running a long way behind schedule, as according to Taiwanese media outlet Benchlife, neither AMD’s usual graphics assemblers nor the main PC manufacturers have any information regarding these new graphics cards.
Nobody knows anything about the RX 7300 and RX 7400
PC builders, like graphics card builders, have early access (that’s where most of the leaks come from) to upcoming releases so that, in time, they can design the computers and order the products. components necessary for them to reach the market shortly after they are officially presented.
The first leak about the existence of the RX 7300 and RX 7400 graphics models pointed to a PRO version, so it is possible that, from the beginning, the original information was not entirely correct or that AMD has decided to change the nomenclature of these models.
Regardless of what will happen with these graphics cards, according to this same media, AMD is focusing its efforts on launching new products with RDNA4 architecture.
The model that already seems to have been confirmed, the RX 8000has an uncertain future regarding its launch date, as some media point to CES 2025 while others extend the presentation date until the second quarter of 2025, before summer.
During the last Computex, AMD did not reveal any information about the Radeon seriesso we have to go back to 2023, specifically to the month of September, during the launch of the new RX 7800 and RX 7700 XT.
The supposedly new RX 7400 and RX 7300 will have a GPU Navi 33 with 8 GB of memory for the RX 7400 model and 6 GB for the RX 7300 model, with TBPs of 150 and 100 W respectively, features far removed from what we can currently consider a mid-range graphics card.
Based on these features, it seems that AMD’s intention is, or was, to launch these models to the market to replace the recently discontinued RX 6600 Series, models with very similar features.
The price of these new models would be around under $200, in what appears to be AMD’s response to the announcement it made earlier this year that it would stop manufacturing the GTX rangeleaving aside the price range below $200.
