A rumor runs through Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is about the possible (and probable) arrival of Harrison Ford to the narrative, interpreting the General Ross. Although this character is not new in the story, he is currently a bacchante due to the death of the actor who played him, the renowned William Hurt.
The role of General Ross within the Marvel Cinematic Universe is relevant because he tries to contain the space that superheroes have within daily dynamics, while also entering them through his alter ego, red-hulk. The history between General Ross and Hulk comes from the moment in which the first was part of the project in which Bruce Banner was exposed to gamma rays.
After this, the officer begins to chase his former friend, something that leads him to transform into the Red Hulk. It is a more ruthless version of this saga of characters. To the point that this red hulk faces and defeats various enemies of Bruce Banner and even several Marvel superheroes. That tradition, within the comics, may be reflected in the Marvel Cinematic Universe through the addition of Harrison Ford in the role.
Harrison Ford and the role of General Ross:
what is known?
Initially, the possibility that the actor was considered for the role was leaked. Then, that option took stronger. Harrison Ford could fill the space left by William Hurt and play General Ross. To this base is now added the film in which he will probably debut in the role.
According to information from /Film, Harrison Ford would not only play General Ross. Also would debut within the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: New World Order. Rumors regarding the actor and the character began during D23. During that event the formation of the Thunderbolts and the figure of the officer was not included in the name list.
It should be remembered that for the Thunderbolts has passed multiple characters. The immediate references within the comics establish the appearance of General Ross within that group, in charge of dealing with murky matters, from the saga of volumes about the group published in 2012. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character was presented in The incredible Hulkone of the founding films of the narrative.
It is intuited that, if the choice of Harrison Ford by Marvel is confirmed (which has not yet been officially pronounced), the character will have a greater journey and presence. The narrative, based on what happened in She-Hulk: Lawyer She-Hulk, seems to be turning towards the atonement of the mythology associated with Bruce Banner and the Hulk. In that line, General Ross is key.
