In those places where fiber optics do not reach, a good solution is to install a 4G or 5G router and insert a SIM card to generate a stable and fast WiFi network. Most operators have solutions that offer 4G speed, but there are already some like Vodafone that have made the leap to 5G.
The last to do so, at least in the Basque Country and Navarre, has been Euskaltel. Your new Hegan service comes with a self-installable router with 5G technologies and WiFi 6 that promises to achieve speeds of up to 600 Mbps.
Rural Internet from 34 euros per month
In those urban or rural areas where Euskaltel’s fiber optic network does not reach, the company has launched Hegan, a service that could provide high-speed connectivity to areas about 40,000 homes (23,000 in the Basque Country) and 17,000 in Navarra).
This new service includes a self-installable router with 5G and WiFi 6 that supports the simultaneous connection of up to 32 devices and achieves a speed up to 600Mbpsalthough Euskaltel acknowledges that the average speed is 102 Mbps.
Hegan is available in three modalities:
- Hegan for 34 euros per month: Internet pack up to 150 Mbps.
- Hegan + 30 GB for 49 euros per month: Internet pack up to 150 Mbps + mobile line with 30 GB + second mobile line with 30 GB for free.
- Hegan + unlimited GB for 59 euros per month: Internet pack up to 150 Mbps + mobile with unlimited GB + second mobile line with free unlimited GB.
In all cases, there is a stay of 12 months and the router is delivered in transfer mode, so you have to return it when you unsubscribe. It does not include a fixed line, but the mobile line has unlimited calls to national mobiles and landlines.
In the conditions, Euskaltel specifies that this rate must be used for “a single location or postal address”, so it cannot be used “in mobility or roaming”. And the second free line must be a port.
Also note that Hegan is exclusively available on Fixed locations in the Basque Country and Navarra where there is no fiber coverage and 5G mobile coverage is available.
