The 80’s and 90’s were a glory days for B movies, those films that had a low-cost production, which was supplied with imagination in abundance. It might seem that the protagonist of the story is also the protagonist of one of these works, but nothing is further from the truth. Troy Hurtubise was the inventor entrusted with transforming into an armored man, the cinema has shown us truly insurmountable robots, to wrestle with a grizzly bear. This is his story.

A metallic suit of legend, which proposed an epic confrontation between human and bear
The tweet that we show you under these lines, and that has recently gone viral, shows us a history that few of us knew to date and that has as leading man to Troy Hurtubise. Through the Project Grizzly documentary, which you can watch for free on the Filmzie platform, we can get closer to one of the most curious inventions of the end of the 20th century. A project that I was looking for the human being to be able to face brown bearswith armor that could have starred in a fighting video game of the time.

However, despite the interestingness of the proposal, What has caught our attention the most?and the main reason why this video has gone viral, is the the way Troy tested the strength of armor, hoping that it was prepared to face a bear attack. The suit, which appears to have enough joints to allow fluid movement of the inventor, receives impacts from gigantic stones or wooden barswhich we could consider correct tests to verify the hardness of the suit.
However, in the final part of the video, we witness two events that leave us stunned. Not only Troy sees himself capable of resisting a fall down an embankment of considerable altitudebut seems to want defy death with a run over with the back of a van. By the way, this was the way the Canadian inventor died, who died in 2018 at the age of 54 due to a car accident. Unfortunately, Mr Hurtubise never got around to checking if his armor was really bear proof. Rest in peace.
