The CES 2024 event in Las Vegas, as we already saw with the Monokei mechanical keyboard, is an interesting place to see the news that some accessory manufacturers launch for our Apple devices. And this year there is a golden opportunity with the arrival of USB-C to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro.
I'm not saying this because of the cables, but because of the chargers. Everyone will want to take advantage of the benefits of the USB-C connection and its fast charging, which Satechi has taken advantage of and launched the charger that wants you to throw away the rest of the adapters you have right now.
4 USB-C ports so that just one charger is enough
Nothing has been spared. We are talking about a 4-port USB-C charger whose maximum power reaches 145W. It achieves this by using gallium nitride (it is a GaN charger) that replaces silicon and helps miniaturize the components necessary to offer that charge.
The first two ports can offer charges of up to 140W on a device, something that can be very useful for charging the most powerful and demanding MacBook Pros in a short time. The remaining two ports offer charges of up to 45W, more than enough for fast charging of iPads and iPhones.
Logically, if all the ports are used at the same time, that power is distributed. But even if it were distributed among everyone, it comes out to more than 36W per port, a power that provides fast charging to the iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods. As long as the appropriate cable is used, of course. And without danger, because the maximum 20W load that some Apple products accept will be the one that will be provided.
The charger also comes with adapters to cover most plugs in the world. We can use it in plugs from the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia.
At the moment this new Satechi charger is on sale from its official website for $119.90. It is a matter of time before we see it appear in other countries like Spain and in stores like Amazon.
